Fujifilm launches new PRIMA-T CR

Compact and lightweight table top unit provides facilities affordable upgrade to digital X-ray

Kane X-ray is very excited about the launch of FUJIFILM’s new PRIMA-T CR digital x-ray reader.  The new compact, table-top CR system was created specifically to meet the x-ray needs of low volume private practices with throughput speeds 25% faster than its predecessor.

The compact PRIMA-T measures less than 2 ft. x 2 ft. making it one of the smallest table-top systems on the market.  Weighing only 86 lbs. the unit fits most table-top environments (though an optional cart is available).

The speed of the PRIMA-T is improved over previous models.  The new CR can produce up to 55 14×17 images per hour in fast scan, 200 micron mode.  For smaller cassettes, it can produce up to 66 8×10 images per hour.

PRIMA-T will come with specialty-specific cassette packages and Fuji’s FlashIIP acquisition console (though the new FDX console is planned for later 2012).  Kane X-ray plans to combine the PRIMA-T with the Medstrat PACS image archive server and the anytime, anywhere Medstrat echoes viewing application.

According to a Fuji press release, “the [PRIMA-T] is designed to eliminate any existing barriers to the adoption of digital x-ray.” (visit press release)  Kane X-ray agrees.  “We have plenty of customers still using film since the right transition to digital just wasn’t available,” said Kane’s CEO, Jake Thompson. “Everyone knows how digital improves image quality, cuts consumable costs, and helps the environment – the PRIMA-T may just be the right product to help our customers go digital.”

Kane X-ray is hoping to begin demonstrating the PRIMA-T in March 2012.  For more information please use the Contact Us form or call 1-800-238-8074.
